Marketing vs. Selling
When you hire a real estate agent what are you hiring them to do? This
is probably the question we hear the wrong answer to the most. When you
are hiring a listing agent you are hiring a marketing professional. You
need their marketing services in order to achieve an end result which is
the ultimately sell of your home.
Buyers agents are typically the ones representing buyers aka Selling
Agents. Listing agents market homes to the masses in order to inspire
buyers to get their buyer agents to bring them to see your home as well
as inspire buyers agents to bring their prospective buyers to come see
your home. THAT is what you are hiring a listing agent to do - market to
the masses. Get your home exposure!
Therefore, when interviewing listing agents you need to be interviewing
for the right thing...a marketing professional. Someone that can give
specific reasons for proper wording on descriptions, pictures, sign
placement, home staging, showing advice, etc. If they do not have
specific methodologies on how to best market your home and the
intricacies of buyer attitudes then they are not truly experienced with
marketing. They may know real estate contracts like the back of their
hand, but if they don't understand marketing...then your home will not
get the exposure it deserves to sell for the most amount of money in the
quickest amount of time.
Our Broker, David Wolfe, is an experienced marketing professional. All
of our listings are assigned to him for placement in the MLS and
Realtor.com. He knows how best to create engaging home descriptions
without it sounding tacky or over the top. We are experienced with
current technology and always on top of the new direction of technology.
